This is a quick how-to on setting up your Network to stop sending the “Install Update Requests.”
Apple’s iOS updates can and may be auto-pushed (without your knowledge) to your iDevice, which is great if you’re into that sort of thing. Some users, however, may want to stay on an older iOS version for many reasons, but mainly because the decreased performance of the newer iOS versions on older iOS devices is a pain.
You get “pushed” (<–ya see what I did there?) with the iOS auto-pushed updates when:

- The device is not running the most current iOS version that it qualifies for
- The device is connected to a Wi-Fi network with adequate throughput
- The device has the required storage space available on it to hold the iOS update file
- The device is powered externally via a USB connection to a Mac/PC’s USB ports or connected to an external USB charger
Here is a way to prevent the auto-pushed update from being pushed to your iOS device:
1. Enter the configuration page of the ASUS Wireless Router
2. Click [Firewall]
3. Click [URL Filter] >> Enable the URL Filter.
4. Enter the “URL” in the [URL Filter List] and click [+] to add this URL.
- Add appldnld.apple.com
- Add mesu.apple.com
5. Click [Apply] to save the configuration.
To Delete Existing Updates from iPhones:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on General
- Go to Storage & iCloud Usage
- Go to Manage Storage
- Select the Update
- Delete
And Now… All that for Android (in this case Samsung)
How to Disable Android OS update notification on Samsung smartphone?
Android devices in the field can receive and install over-the-air (OTA) updates to the system and application software. Devices have a special recovery partition with the software needed to unpack a downloaded update package and apply it to the rest of the system.
Method 1: Disable OTA Notification
If you’re getting “system/software update available” notification again and again and you want to get rid of it, here’s a solution to deal with that issue.
1. Swipe down the notification panel and tap and hold/long press the OTA notification card
2. Now tap the info icon
3. Doing so will take you the App notifications page for Google Play Services

Method 2: Disable Software Update (No Root)
If your Android device is not rooted, there are limited ways to get rid of software update notifications. Here’s what you need to do.
1. Open device Settings> Apps/Application Manager> All.
2. Look for the Software Updater app and tap it.
3. Now tap the Disable button and select OK.
There might be situations where the software update or android OS update notification is constantly bugging you. Then here is an easy way to get rid of the software update notification. If you don’t want to disable the OTA functionality, then just follow the steps listed below to disable and hide the Android OS update notification from the notification panel.
- Turn on your Samsung Android smartphone
- Swipe down, the notification panel will appear
- Long press on the OTA update notification
- Tap on the “I” button
- Deselect ‘Block Option’ to disable Android OS update notifications
That’s all. The update notification from your device will have disappeared!
Having an updated device can be great, but if it isn’t working for you then get rid of it!
